Potassium ferricyanide, potassium hexacyanide (III), is an inorganic compound, chemical formula K3[Fe(CN)6], commonly known as red blood salt. This bright red solid salt contains [Fe(CN)6]3− coordination ions. It is soluble in water, and the aqueous solution has a yellow-green fluorescence.

Potassium ferricyanide is a inorganic compound, chemical formula K3 [Fe (CN) 6], commonly known as hematite, potassium hematite, molecular weight 329.24, red crystal, soluble in water, aqueous solution with chartreuse fluorescence, containing ferricyanide complex ion [Fe (CN) 6] 3 −.

It is mainly used in photographic paper, pigment, leather making, printing, pharmacy, fertilizer, mordant, electroplating, paper making, steel and other industries. The central atom of the substance is iron ion (Fe3+), the ligand is  c yanogen ion (CN -), the coordination number is 6, the internal boundary is the ferricyanide ion {[Fe (CN) 6] 3 -}, and the external boundary is potassium ion (K+).

Stability: Stable. Incompatible with strong acids,  strong oxidizing agents. Reaction with acids yields toxic gas. May discolour on exposure to light.

Storage: Store at RT.

Usage:Used in photographic paper, pigment, tanning, printing, pharmaceutical, fertilizer, mordant, electroplating, paper, steel and other industries

Potassium ferricyanide can be used for printing and plate making, oxidation, bleaching, and coloring of color film, photographic development and development, production of blueprints, pharmaceuticals (antibacterial enhancers, PMP, etc.), and sanctions for cutting with blue marking powder. It is also used for electroplating, leather making, paper making, and fertilizer. Used for dyeing anilin black in the printing and dyeing industry, as a carburizing agent in the steel industry, and as a flotation agent for molybdenum ore.
