木犀草素是从乙醇离析出的为含一个结晶水的金黄色针状体。能溶于乙醇、乙醚；微溶于热水，难溶于冷水。水溶液呈悦目的淡黄色，溶于10% 氢氧化钠水溶液，并呈深黄色。溶于浓硫酸生成锌盐，呈暗红黄色。
